Charity initiative and communication for impact AITA.
Wait for me 🕜
On December 2016 I set up Wait For Me, a charity event to raise awareness on aphasia, the inability to comprehend and formulate language because of damage to the left side of the brain. Eighteen established artists, including myself, got involved, donating their time and skills to create a poster on topics such as communication, time and connection. The money raised has been used by A.IT.A for training aphasia patients in the use of the latest technologies. The event became a collaboration with the University of Medicine and position art as a therapeutic practice.
The Brief
I initially set up a brief and shared it with well established artists and UAL students.
The printing process
A jury selected 13 posters to be printed through risograph printing process, in partnership with Hato Press.
The event
Posters went on sale during Wait for Me charity events. In total we raised £1670 raising awareness on this symptom of brain damage.

Talk at the University of Medicine
The experience of Wait for Me has been shared with professors, the president of the Italian aphasia association and speech therapists, at the University of Medicine in Perugia.
“Art can be a refuge for the intense emotions associated with illness; there are no limits to the imagination in finding creative ways to express emotions.”
